Once upon a time a young coder sarted to work on IDE for Qt4. Unfortunately it soon appeared that he had no skills for team management and the first team disbanded after a few monthes. Later on it also appeared that despite its decent skills in coding he was absolutely unbale to craft a decent software because he has no skills in UI design. However he went on and Edyuk, that was the name of the software, became, litle by little, stable and usable...
Then, a former member of the now defunct team had the courage(yeah, this young fellow was REALLY terrifying...) to tell him that the dialog, and especially the one used in project management sucked a great deal. So your young hero focused on design, openned Qt Designer for the first time after months of hard internal coding. He had never imagined one could spend so much time on UI design : drawing drafts, moving widgets steadily from a place to another, erasing the first draft and moving widgets again in an ever-faster movement... After afew attempts he finally decided that he had done enough and that the new design, not particularly outstanding was already quite decent and anyway much better than the older one so he commited changes and went back on the regular work i.e. fixing the code and adding missing functionnalitites... Here comes a small comparision : Project properties dialog | New file dialog |
Please keep in mind that this young fellow gave you this eye candy only because he hoped to get some comments and possibly offer to help about the artistic aspect...
